Forrest Gump

FORREST GUMP

The movie is about Forrest, who is sitting on a bench, telling his life story for random people who is also just sitting on this bench, waiting for their bus. I will now do a summary of his life, and what he told all the people that was passing by.

He grew up in Greenbow, Alabama with only his mother. They lived in this big white house on the countryside that the mother had inherited from her parents. Since Forrest and his mother had this big house by them selves, they decided to rent out some of the rooms for people who lived out of their suitcases.
One day, there was this man who rented a room. He had a big hair quiff and played the guitar. When the supper was finished, Forrest mother find the young man and Forrest in a room-Forrest dancing and the young man singing and playing on his guitar. Because of the braces Forrest had on his legs, he didn't had the opportunity to dance like a normal person would have done, but little did he know that Elvis took after this dance step and made it become famous all over the world.

Forrest never had any friends, until his first day of school when a blonde girl offers him to sit next to her on the bus to school. From that day on, this girl named Jenny was his best friend. They did everything together, and Forrest was the happiest boy alive.
There was some situations in their growth where Forrest got bullied by the "cool" guys from school. Jennie was with him, as usual, but she couldn't do anything about it, so she just told him to run. And Forrest ran. And from that day on, wherever Forrest was going, he ran.
He even ran so fast that he got a place in Alabama's college football-team.

Forrest wasn't very cleaver, but yet he experienced a lot of big happenings in his life. For example, he participated in the Vietnam war (1955-1975), he was a elite ping pong player and because of that he met the president twice, he owned on of the biggest shrimping companies in America (this shrimping factory also became a part owner of Apple).

Forrest always had one or two friends by his side throughout his live. He had Bubba during the war and lieutenant Dan when he started the shrimping factory. All though he had people by his side, there was always something missing. But it wasn't just "something". It was his best friend, and the love of his life-Jenny.
Ever since that day when Jenny offered him the place next to her on the bus, belonged his heart to her.
But Jenny had her own life as a hippie, traveling around in America fighting for peace. She met some boys, but none of them was a guy for her. She visited Forrest once in a while, and Forrest always told her that she was worthy someone who could take care of her and love her with all of their heart. Forrest obviously meant himself, but Jenny couldn't stay with him. She had her own life, and I guess she didn't had the same feelings for Forrest as he had for her.

"Looking for Alaska"

So, I'm reading this book called "Looking for Alaska", and it's written by the famous author John Green. He has also written the best seller "The Fault in Our Stars" and some other masterpieces.

Looking for Alaska is about a boy, Miles, who is heading to a boarding school in Alabama. He leaves his mom and dad in Florida for this school, but his mom and dad are also the only things that he is leaving. He doesn't have any friends in Florida, so it won't be a hard farewell. Or well, he had one friend-Marie, but they weren't really close.
Miles has aways been quite a lonely person, and his best friend is his mother. So moving to Alabama and start on the school that also his father went to will be a new beginning for Miles.

Miles comes to the school and he gets his room. Just a moment later, Miles meets his roommate-Colonel(his actual name is Chip Martin, but everyone calls him the Colonel so I will call him the same in this summary), but he doesn't get the best first impression of him-he is short, muscular and smells smoke. Miles who just promised his mom and dad that he won't smoke will have a roommate who smokes, *wow how great* is his thought.

But Miles founds out that this "Colonel" is maybe better than he thought, and kind of nice. They talk for a while, and The Colonel tells Miles that he is really good at memorizing things, countries for example. Or well, The Colonel doesn't really tell Miles about that, he just looks at the world map that Miles has put over his bed and starts to recite all the countries that starts with A, B and so on.

After a while, The Colonel takes Miles out in the hallway, and leads him to a room where there is a sign on the door that says "Alaska has a single". They walk in, and meet a girl whose name is Alaska, and according to Miles, this is probably the hottest girl in all of human history.

The days go by, and it's time for Miles to have his first class-French. It works fine, he walks to the next classroom, and also that class works fine.

What happened in the 40s?
The World War II ended in the 1945 with a nuclear bomb that was precipitated by the American soldiers. The bomb exploded first in Hiroshima the 6th of August and ruined the complete city. 3 days later, another bomb was dropped in Nagasaki, also a Japanese city.
The reason why they dropped the bomb in these two cities was because the cities wasn't destroyed.

the new government

The Swedish new government is now revealed, and it contains 12 women and 12 men. Personally, I think this shows that he is for feminism (which I think, is a really important question). I will now tell you the 10 top faces, that you should know about.

The first one, and also the most important person is our new Prime Minister, called Stefan Löfven. He grew up with his foster parents in Stockholm. What's special with Stefan, is that he isn't a high educated politician. He didn't went to a big school and studied law, actually, he is a former welder (which shows that everyone can succeed, even if you are a welder). Two of his biggest questions he want to improve these 4 years is the unemployment and also the school results.

Sweden's new Finance Minister is called Magdalena Andersson, and is a social democrat. She is born 1967 in Uppsala, Sweden. Magdalena has been studying a lot, especially economics. In the beginning of the 90's, she started to study at the Stockholm School of Economics, and after she got graduated there, she started to study in the US, at Harvards university. From 2007-2009, she worked as advisor for the social democrat's last leader, Mona Sahlin.
Her husband is also really good att economic stuff, he is a professor at the Stockholm School of Economics.

Our country's new Foreign Minister is called Margot Wallström, and is a 60 year old woman from the swedish town Skellefteå. She actually never went to university, but she has still been working as UN Special Representative of the Secretary-General on Sexual Violence in Conflict and EU Commissioner for Institutional Relations and Communication Strategy. Just like the former foreign minister, Carl Bildt, is she an active user on Twitter.

Åsa Romson will be our new Deputy Prime Minister, she is, together with Gustav Fridolin, the mouthpiece for the green party. Her heart beats for the climate, and she loves being outdoor.
But she wont only be the Debuty Prime Minister, she will also be the minister for Climate and Environment.

Jan Björklund was Sweden's last Education Minister, but now it's Gustav Fridolin's turn. The 31 year old man is from Vittsjö in Sweden, and have done a lot of things in is life. He has pinned three books, been working on "Kalla Fakta" as a journalist and also been teaching social sciences and history in an adult education college. He is the second youngest minister in this government.

The new Culture Minister's name is Alice Bah Kuhnke, and is a green party member. In She is 42 years old, and comes from Malmö-the southern of Sweden. She is a former tv-broadcaster for Swedens Television's Disney Club. Just like Gustav Fridolin, Alice have also been working on "Kalla Fakta". As you may understand, Alice have been working a lot with technical and media, she have for exampel been working as a sustainability manager at technology consultancy company ÅF.

Mehmet Kaplan will be our new Housing Minister, and is a 43 year old turkish man. He has been the spokesperson for the Muslim Council of Sweden, which shows that he is a muslim. A thing that you may not know, is that he 2010 was a part of the ship to Gaza that tried to bring humanitarian aid.

The new Minister for Upper-Secondary School and Educational Standards is Aida Hadzialic. This girl is the youngest person in our new Government. She was 16 years old when she joined SSU, and only 7 years later, she became a member in Halmstads "kommunråd". When she got this chance, she retired from the "kommunråd".

Vill du jobba mer under eget ansvar?
Kanske någon gång till, men inte lika ofta som vi har gjort nu denna terminen.

It's hard to make a summary of this song, because it doesen't have a special story. It's just about a boy/girl who has a demon inside, and probably is in love with another person.
The reason I choose this song was because it have some difficult words, and also because I like some quotes in it.

I am just a poor boy - Jag är bara en fattig kille
Though my story's seldom told -fastän mina historier sällan blir berättade
I have squandered my resistance - Jag har slösat bort mitt motstånd
For a pocket full of mumbles such are promises -För en ficka full av mumlingar som är löften
All lies and jests - alla lögner och skämt
Still a man hears what he wants to hear -Fortfarande hör en man enbart vad han vill höra
And disregards the rest -och ignorerar resten

When I left my home and my family - när jag lämnade mitt hem och min familj
I was no more than a boy - Var jag inte mer än en liten pojke
In the company of strangers - I sällskap av främlingar
In the quiet of the railway station running scared - I tystheten när tågstationen
Laying low, seeking out the poorer quarters -Ligger lågt, undersöker de fattigaste kvartererna
Where the ragged people go - dit de ovårdade/trasiga personerna går
Looking for the places only they would know -Letar efter platserna som bara de vet om

Lie la lie ...

Asking only workman's wages - Frågar enbart om arbetarens löner
I come looking for a job - Kom jag letandes efter ett jobb
But I get no offers, - men jag får inget erbjudande
Just a come-on from the whores on Seventh Avenue - Kom just ___ från hororna på Seventh Avenue
I do declare, there were times when I was so lonesome - Jag förklarar, det fanns tider då jag var ensam
I took some comfort there - Jag tog hjälp/var bekväm där

Lie la lie ...

Then I'm laying out my winter clothes  - Sen lägger jag ut alla mina vinterkläder
And wishing I was gone - Och önskade att jag var borta
Going home - Går hem
Where the New York City winters aren't bleeding me - Där New York City's vintrar inte förbannar mig
Bleeding me, going home - Förbannar mig, går hem

In the clearing stands a boxer - I rensningen står en boxare
And a fighter by his trade - Och en krigare vid hans byte
And he carries the reminders
Of ev'ry glove that layed him down
Or cut him till he cried out
In his anger and his shame
"I am leaving, I am leaving"

But the fighter still remains

endangered species - utrotningshotade arter
eng; What’s going on here? Oh, it’s only two wild giant pandas wrestling in China. Yeah, the wrestling
match between the two pandas was caught on camera set up at a nature reserve in southwest China.
The nature reserve had installed a number of cameras recently to observe the wild animals.
After collecting and sorting the latest videos in March, staff members found eight cameras have recorded images of wild giant pandas.
“One camera, broken by a giant panda, took footage of two giant pandas playing. It’s the first time such images have been captured since the nature reserve was established.”
Besides giant pandas, the cameras also captured images of other endangered species, including a golden snub-nosed monkey.
Okay, let’s see that wresting match one more time.

An unidentified man was removed from a train after threatening to shoot passengers.
Because of the man’s strange behaviour, transit police officer Ronald Jones confronted him, but he then pushed Jones to the ground, throwing punches and kicks.
The attacker was eventually restrained on the ground with help from some passers-by.
According to witnesses, the subject managed to get away from police and returned to the train, trying to grab a child, but was unable to do so.
More officers were then called to the scene and the subject was taken into custody. Officer Jones was unhurt by the confrontation.

The Full Monty-questions

How has Sheffield changed in the last twenty-five years? Why has it changed?
answer: Sheffield was in the beginning really famous for their steel-industry, and it was also a rich city. Most of the residences in the city had a job, and they just didn't had a job, they also earned a lot of money. But sometime in sometimes in the 80-90's China got bigger with their steel-industry, they even got bigger than Sheffields. So when the factory didn't earned money on what they where doing anymore they had to fire all the workers and close the factory.

Why is Gaz angry about the Chippendales at first? Why does he change his mind? answer: He is jealous about the Chippendales because they have a lot of girls who wants to see them naked, and Gaz have none.
But when he comes up with the idea of them being strippers

What kind of relationship do these couples have?
-Gerald and Linda, answer: In fact, Gerald and Lina have a quite good relationship because they are really in love and they love to do stuff together. All though there is a problem, Gerald haven't told Linda that he is unemployed. And Linda loves to travel, so she always talks about go skiing and so on. Gerald is really scared over what Linda will say about his unemployment, so he decides to not tell here and go on with searching for a new job.
-Dave and Jean, answer: This relationship is actually a really good relationship. Dave is completely in love with Jean, and Jean is in love with Dave. The problem is just that Dave haven't got a lot of good confidence, because he is fat. That makes him feel insecure about himself, and he always thinks that Jean is searching for something better. He doesn't feel like he is enough.
-Gaz and Mandy, answer: These two have probably the worst relationship in the world. Gaz is still in love with Mandy, but Mandy have a new husband named Barry. And it's not a very big surprise that Mandy doesn't want to live with Gaz anymore. He don't have a job, he have been to jail several times and he can't take care of their son Nathan. There is one day when Mandy tells Gaz that Barry and her have been to the court, and the lawyer have decided to give Barry and Mandy sole custody of Nathan if Gaz doesn't give the mother 700 dollar.
It's when Gaz have to do this he decides to start "The Full Monty".

What importance do these have in the story?
-The video Flashdance, answer:
-Arsenal offside trap, answer:
-the film Singing in the rain, answer

Why doesn't Gaz want to tell Alan the reason for hiring the Working Men's Club?
answer: Because Gaz think it's awkward to tell Alan about them being strippers. I guess you can feel more pride if you tell someone that you're the foreman for a big company, and that you earn plenty of money.

Why is Dave worried about taking part in the show?
answer: Dave is afraid of participating in the show because he think he is fat, and is afraid of what other people would think about him and his body.

How does Dave become a different person after his conversation with Jean?
answer: He probably tries to just think of what Jean thinks about him. It's really hard to just stop listen to bad comments that certain people tell you, but I think that Dave only have eyes for Jean on the show because he knows that she loves him.

Why doesn't Gaz want to go on stage? How does Nathan make him change his mind?
answer: Gaz feel insecure about his body, and he also have stage fright (I think), so suddenly he just decides that he won't do the show. Just before the show Nathan luckily show up and tell Gaz that Mandy is out in the crowd without Barry. In a second Gaz just change his mind and decides to go out there anyway.

How have the men changed since they formed the stripper's group? answer:

"THE FAULT IN OUR STARS"

I rented a book called "The fault in our stars" a couple of days ago from the school-library. It's written by John Green who is a fantastic writer according (saknas preposition) the newspaper. Some of my closest friends has also read this book, and when I read the text on the backside of the book I realized that this is a "Typical Tilda book"(This was also what my friend Thilde told me when I told her about the action). I like books where there is some kind of tragedy, when the main characters is trying to focus on or find what's good in their lives. In this case there is a girl called Hazel Grace. When she was thirteen years old she got the diagnosis that she had cancer. It was some kind of cancer that made her lungs collapse (or well, they didn't work very well). In the beginning of the book she is still having cancer, but she is okay, and she is fighting against it.
When she got the diagnosis she couldn't go on with school and other activities, so she isn't seeing her friends very much and she can't do the things that other normal teenagers are doing. That's why Hazel's mother put her in a Cancer Kid Support Group with other teenagers that also is diagnosed with some kind of cancer. She thrives in the group because the is surrounded with people who is also going through something hard. Or well, maybe the hour in the group isn't the best time in the week, but suddenly that changes. One of the boys in the group, Isac, brought one of his friends that also is diagnosed with cancer, Augustus Waters.
The time with the group ends and Augustus is going straight to Hazel to talk to her. The talk ends with Hazel and Augustus sitting in Augustus's livingroom watching V for Vendetta (which is Augustus's favourite movie, but Hazel doesn't understand why) and eating home made
enchiladas.

Augustus asks Hazel when he can see her again, and she tells him that she will give him a call when she
has finished reading the book that Augustus lent her (an imperial affliction). So when Hazel, 24 hours later
has read the book she gives him a call, but Augustus haven't finished reading the book that Hazel lent him
so they decide that they will speak again when he's finished.
One day later he's finished and they say that they will meet in Augustus's place. But it's not a "normal"
meeting because Isaac from the Cancer Kid Support Group is also there. He have cancer in his eyes and
in just a few days he will loose his sight because of an operation. Isaac had a girlfriend called Monica, but
she broke up with him because "she couldn't handle it anymore" (the cancer), and Isaac is devastated.

The book that Hazel lented Augustus, An Imperial Affliction, is written by a man called Peter Van Houten
and lives in Holland. The book is really special, because it don't have a real ending. Suddenly it's just the
end of the book, and you can only understand what is happening to one of the main characters, Anna,
who have cancer. Hazel and Augustus understand that the book is ending because Anna either get to sick to
continue writing or she dies, but Hazel want to know what's happening to the other characters. Does Annas
mother marries the Dutch Tulip man, and what happens to Annas hamster?

It has been a few years since Hazel finished the book, and she can't remember how many letters she have
sent to Van Houten asking what's happening to the other characters, but she've never got an answer from
him.
But suddenly Augustus is calling Hazel to tell her that he have got an answer from Van Houtens assistance
telling them that Van Houten can't answer their questions by email, so he invite them to come to Holland
ant meet him.

But Hazel is not feeling very well, she have pain in her shoulder and also in her head(brain). She can't stand
away from the thought the she maybe have a brain tumor, so when she wake up one morning and the pain is
worse then before she screams her mothers name, tell her about the pain and then they drive to the closest
hospital.
The doctors find out that her lungs if filled with water, so the pain was because she didn't get enough
oxygen to her brain.

After a couple of weeks, Hazel feel better, so they decides that they will go to Amsterdam after all. The
doctors is doubtful though, but Hazels mother convince them.

So it's May 3th, and Hazel haven't been this exited since her dad bought the swing set when she was a kid.
They finnish  the packing and drive to Augustus house where Hazel is walking straight to the front door,
but she stops when she can hear someone crying inside. First she think it's Gus mother who is crying, but
suddenly she notice that it's not Gus mothers voice, it's Gus. She can hear him scream "It's my body" to his
mother, but Hazel don't want to hear more so she turns around and walk back to the car,  saying nothing.
After a while Augustus walk out to the car, he put his package in the car and then they drive to the airport.

A few hours later they finally get their seats, and they have a long journey ahead of them.

The second day in Amsterdam it's finally time for Augustus and Hazel to meet the famous

The book that I'm reading is called "Killer in the jungle" and it's written by Michael Palmer. It's about a man, Hal Smith, who is a reporter for the british magazine Mercury. At the moment he is writing about the famous Gorilla Girl, also called Gill Green who died for about 1 or 2 days ago.
When he had finished the article about the dead woman his boss told him that he could take the first flight to West Africa to learn more about the murdered woman.

When he arrived in Africa he immediately took a taxi to the police station so he could talk to the man who worked with the case. The Chief, Mbarga, was really clear about that he had founded the right murderer who also where ms Green's houseboy. His name was Zachaeus Ngu, 40 years old and came from the north part of Africa. He had worked for Gigi for 10 years and when Hal got the chance to meet Zachaeus he tried to persuade Hal that he wasn't the murderer. He told Hal his personal story that was a completely different story that the Police Chief had shared with Hal a few minutes ago.
Zach prayed to Hal that maybe he could write the true story in the newspaper so he didn't have to be in prison.
Inspector Mbarga came into the room and told Hal that the suspected murderer says a lot of lies, and he also said to Hal that he shouldn't believe him.

But Hal is doubtful, he think that Zachaeus is saying the truth and that he isn't Gigi's murderer.
Hal have to leave the police office and decides to go to the camp where the Gorilla woman lived.

He get the change to meet the park director and hear his story about Gigi's death.

William was going to the cinema with Anna Scott, the american movie star, but he couldn't find his glasses. So when he had to leave, he took his goggles instead. He didn't look very sexy though. When the movie had end, they went to dinner together. At the table next to Anna and Williams there was a few men talking about Annas latest film. They didn't like it though, and they thought that Anna wasn't a good person. So William walked straight to their table and said "You shouldn't talk about her like that".
