The book that I'm reading is called "Killer in the jungle" and it's written by Michael Palmer. It's about a man, Hal Smith, who is a reporter for the british magazine Mercury. At the moment he is writing about the famous Gorilla Girl, also called Gill Green who died for about 1 or 2 days ago.
When he had finished the article about the dead woman his boss told him that he could take the first flight to West Africa to learn more about the murdered woman.
When he arrived in Africa he immediately took a taxi to the police station so he could talk to the man who worked with the case. The Chief, Mbarga, was really clear about that he had founded the right murderer who also where ms Green's houseboy. His name was Zachaeus Ngu, 40 years old and came from the north part of Africa. He had worked for Gigi for 10 years and when Hal got the chance to meet Zachaeus he tried to persuade Hal that he wasn't the murderer. He told Hal his personal story that was a completely different story that the Police Chief had shared with Hal a few minutes ago.
Zach prayed to Hal that maybe he could write the true story in the newspaper so he didn't have to be in prison.
Inspector Mbarga came into the room and told Hal that the suspected murderer says a lot of lies, and he also said to Hal that he shouldn't believe him.
But Hal is doubtful, he think that Zachaeus is saying the truth and that he isn't Gigi's murderer.
Hal have to leave the police office and decides to go to the camp where the Gorilla woman lived.
He get the change to meet the park director and hear his story about Gigi's death.
